The school was founded by late Sukumar Ranjan Sutradhar on the 5thof January 1984. At first the name was ‘Shishu Niketan Vidyalaya’ with the pre-primary classes. Gradually the school was upgraded to the Primary,Secondary and the Higher Secondary Level with the approval of the Department of Education, Govt. of Tripura and the Tripura Board of Secondary Education. Later thes chool has been renamed as ‘Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School’. The first batch of students appeared at the Madhyamik (Secondary) Examination in the year 2004 and at the Higher Secondary Examination in 2014.
We envisage creating Global Citizens and Leaders of tomorrow through the values of Love, Empathy, Discipline and Respect, and training the learners to develop the skills required for leading a successful life. We intend that children should enjoy their learning, explore their potential and become independent life-long learners. In short, we believe in Man-making Education.
The main mission of Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School is to –
- Develop faith in one’s own self.
- Make our students fit for the purpose through Quality Education.
- Foster the love for learning in learners, encourage them to try novel and exciting things.
- Provide a positive, safe and stimulating environment for children to learn.
- Generate a sense of love for humanity and the nation among learners.
- Encourage the students in Nation Building.
